Mission & Outreach Commission

This commission strives to truly reach those in need, and has made St. Paul's an active part of community outreach. There are many areas of focus for this commission. Here are some of them:

1. FAMILY SERVICES
Through this organization we supply book bags to foster children, Thanksgiving Food Baskets to the families of foster children, and gifts at Christmas through our Angel Tree Project. We have also hosted a Christmas Party for all of the foster families in Jackson County.

2. PARTNERSHIP PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
Members of Mission and Outreach attend monthly meetings at St. Paul's to keep abreast of the needs in the neighborhood. We support the food pantry via donations of non-perishable food items which are donated by the members of this parish. We collect Easter Baskets and attend the Easter Egg Hunt each spring. We have an annual Open House for the participants of "Trunk or Treat" where we supply food, hot chocolate and a chance to warm up for the families. This is great fun and many of our parishioners get involved.

3. INTERFAITH SHELTER
Not only do we donate funds each year to help with the administration of this organization, we prepare and serve dinners every other month. This feeds the residents and people of the neighborhood which at times have numbered 150. We also collect and deliver toiletries and linens for the residents.

4. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
We serve lunches to the workers on various builds every other month and donate funds to supply lighting for a build each year.

5. DONATIONS
We support the following organizations through donations each year. Aware Shelter, Salvation Army, Lingap Center Orphanage in the Philippines, United Thank Offering, Episcopal Relief and Development, and Love, INC.

6. COMMUNITY EVENTS
Discover Downtown Again, Relay for Life, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Downtown Spring Planting, Clothing Drive for the People of the Ukraine, and much more!

St. Paul's members are a generous and energetic avenue for God's love to spread. Please join us! We meet the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
